Hey, there Fashion loves,

It has been more than a long time since I have graced your inboxes. I miss you all dearly, and I am here to let you know what has been going on with me. But, first, let me start with a Happy Holidays! This is seriously the most beautiful time of the year to me. I hope you have had some time to celebrate and enjoy what’s left of 2018, and for those of you who do not enjoy this time of year so much, my prayers and thoughts are with you.

Onward to what’s been going on in my life… This post could be extremely long, but I want to spare you and be conscious of your time, so I have bulleted this post for you to read or leave what you want.

1.  I am an entrepreneur
I am the proud owner and CEO of True 2 Size Shoes, an online store specializing in womens footwear sizes US 5.5-13. Many of you may have known a bit about this, but I am all in at this point. I am excited and truly grateful for all the love and support the business is being shown and I am eager to take things up a notch in the new year. I have learned so much in such a short period of time, and I am sure I have so much more to learn. True 2 Size Shoes (T2S) is where my heart is in this moment. I want it to be the greatest thing I have done to date. Some days I sit and reflect and I cannot believe that I started a business, little ol’ me…I did it. Anywho, check out my wite www.true2sizeshoes.com and subscribe to the VIP list for exclusive deals and offers. I promise you will like this!

2. I quit my job!!!!!

I can go on and on about this in so many ways. I’ll keep it as simple as possible. Have you ever been in a place that showed you one thing but told you another? I mean surrounded by accolades and compliments but pushed aside to “help out” someone else who has not done the work that you have? Well, that’s the story of why I quit my job. I could count hundreds of reasons to stay, I could also count millions of reasons to leave, so I followed my gut and I could not be happier. I was working in a toxic environment surrounded by people who lacked…well I’ll just say some of everything. I was burned out and no longer interested in going above and beyond for a place that did not do the same. God placed True 2 Size Shoes on my heart just in time. His ways are far better than ours and He knows what we need. I spent countless nights up over the last year prepping and preparing True 2 Size Shoes to be more than my side hustle, and today I am proud to say, God let me use it as my way out. I have not missed a meal or a bill, and my happiness is elevated.

I gave up being angry about feeling “forced” to quit my job and I moved into a place of freedom. Once I accepted that my current job was no longer for me, God released a fresh anointing and fresh wind over me. My first day as a full-time entrepreneur, I won a pitch competition and sold the most shoes to one customer at a vendor show I had sold all year. Talk about faith. I am confident this is only the beginning and God will supply all of my needs during this transition.

3. We purchased our first home
Talk about favor! My husband and I have not been on the same page in the house buying process since we started. To be honest, he wanted to look for a house and I did not. I did not want to be tied to our current area and it was hard to come to grips with purchasing a home. Despite this, I continued to remember my vows and the commitment I made to God, my husband, and our marriage. This is apart of our journey and I need to be supportive. My husband wanted a place for us to call home, to make memories, and begin our legacy, why not?! We’re in this for the long haul.

After more than a year of searching and searching my husband finally found a home for us. Yes, I said my husband found one for us because the day we were scheduled to see the house, I was over it, I was having a bad day and told him to see the house without me.  It was the first time in this process that I told him I trust him and I am confident in the decision he would make. I am quite sure this was God at work. My husband saw the house, recorded every inch of it to show me when he saw me, and he wanted to make an offer immediately (if you know my husband, he does not do anything quickly). I once again went with my gut and prayed that God let our offer go through if this is the home for us. Unlike all the other homes we bid on, there was no bidding war, our offer was accepted and our contingencies were met, even in a seller’s market. Just like that, we became homeowners!

4. I won a pitch competition
I mentioned this earlier, but on December 1st, 2018 I entered my first pitch competition as a full-time entrepreneur with Sisters in Business at the Annual Business Summit and I won! The thing about this day that’s a little crazy is that I was alone, selling shoes, preparing for the pitch, and nervous about the decision I had recently made. About one hour before the competition, I realized I had left my computer and flash drive at home with my pitch on it and I was 1 hr away from my house. Before I decided to cry or forfeit my chances, I prayed, I sat and I prayed. I asked God to give me all the words from my pitch, and I handwrote every word on the back of the program and I pitched my business from the heart. I realized at that moment that is what it was about. Being true to my brand and being confident in the vision God gave to me. I walked away with the check and the additional prize!

5. I gave up thrifting (sort of)
I have been so lazy when it comes to getting dressed. It could be the whole work from home thing. Nonetheless, I have been having a hard time pulling myself to enjoy thrifting the way I used to. I would thrift 3-4 times a week normally.  I have acquired a lot of great things over the years, but recently I believe my taste is changing, and my love for thrifting is taking a backseat. I am still processing this as it is new to me, but I thought it was important to share with you all that this may be a subject we dissect in 2019. I am going to give it a try again and I’ll share what happens on my next thrifting adventure.

I hope you all enjoyed catching up! See you in my next post! Don’t forget to shop the Fabfinder earring shop and True 2 Size Shoes!
